Negros Island Region is the newest region in the Philippines, created in 2024. It is made up of the provinces of Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental and Siquijor, with Bacolod and Dumaguete as the regional centres. Negros Occidental used to sit in Western Visayas, while Negros Oriental and Siquijor were part of Central Visayas, so you may still see these places listed under the old regions in older guides.
