Dampalitan Island isn’t really an island. It’s more like a small peninsula connected to the mainland. We visited in 2014 as our last stop of the day, after Puting Buhangin and Borawan Island. It was already late in the afternoon, and as we approached, the white sand seemed to glow on the horizon. I reckon the position of the sun helped, but it was an amazing sight.
Dampalitan Beach is in Padre Burgos, in Quezon province (Calabarzon), about 160 kilometres from Manila and close to Borawan Island.
The beach had a beautiful stretch of white sand, with pine trees mixed in among the palms. That’s not a combination you see everywhere in this part of the Philippines, and as the sun began to set, the trees made some great silhouettes for photos.

We didn’t swim at Dampalitan because we were short on time and wanted to have a look around. My family and my nephew’s family settled in by the beach, while I went for a walk and took photos.
There were some small cottages near the beach, and it looked as though there was a simple resort area there. The reports I found also mention a family-run resort with huts and basic facilities, although I couldn’t confirm its name.

We arrived as the sun was starting to go down, and the beach faced straight towards it. The pine and palm trees stood out against the evening light, making the place feel even more beautiful.
We were ready to call it a day by then. It had been a massive day, and we still had to drive back to Lucena in the dark along roads we weren’t familiar with. Despite that, the sunset was an awesome way to finish the day and gave us plenty to talk about on the drive back.

We visited Dampalitan as the final stop on a day trip with Borawan and Puting Buhangin. We stayed for about an hour, but it felt like a place you could easily spend longer if you had the time.
The three stops were all different. Borawan stood out for its rock formations, Puting Buhangin for its sheltered cove and exceptionally white sand, and Dampalitan for its long beach, trees and sunset.
We reached Dampalitan as the last stop on a boat trip from the Padre Burgos area, after Borawan and Puting Buhangin. My Borawan Island page explains how we arranged the boat, and the stops can be confirmed with your boat operator before you set off.

We only had about an hour there, but the glowing sand and the trees against the evening sky made it an amazing last stop I’ll never forget.
