The Ilocos Region, also known as Region I, runs along the north-west coast of Luzon. It covers four provinces: Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union and Pangasinan, with San Fernando in La Union as the regional centre. Expect heritage towns, windswept coastline and some of the best surf and beaches north of Manila.
