SOCCSKSARGEN, also known as Region XII, takes its name from its provinces and city: South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani and General Santos City. Koronadal City is the regional centre. It is the heart of southern Mindanao, with lakes, mountains and a long coastline on the Celebes Sea, and General Santos is famous for its tuna.
